Passport records are generated from the stamp on the platform. Any number you type resolves to a demonstration record — real customer passports are issued against your delivery lot and emailed with the packing list.
Because “recycled” is an adjective, and a number is not.
Any yard can say its pallets are recycled. Almost none can tell you which plant the wood came out of, how many times it has been repaired, or whether the heat-treatment mark on the side corresponds to a logged chamber cycle. Those are exactly the questions a food-safety auditor, a customs officer or a sustainability team eventually asks.
So in 2024 we started stamping an identity rather than a claim. It costs us a few seconds per platform and has settled more disputes than any contract clause we have ever written.
- Recovery origin and date
- Repair history, board by board
- Current grade after re-grading
- Heat-treatment batch reference, where applicable
- Lumber species
- Running CO₂e, lumber and landfill ledger
Four people who stop having a bad day.
- The food-safety auditor who wants to know what has been on your platforms before
- The customs officer querying whether the HT mark corresponds to a real chamber cycle
- The sustainability analyst who needs a defensible figure rather than an industry average
- The warehouse manager arguing about whether a failed pallet was ours, and when we repaired it
The passport, answered.
Does it cost extra?
No. It is standard on every platform that goes through our repair line. You have to ask for the records to be emailed, which is the only part that takes anyone any time.
What happens if the stamp becomes unreadable?
It is burned rather than printed, so it survives weather far better than a label — but a destroyed outer stringer takes the stamp with it. If the platform comes back to us for repair we re-stamp and the record continues.
Is this a blockchain?
No. It is a stamp and a database, which is what the problem actually requires. We considered the alternative and could not identify a question it answered better.
Can I look up my own lot online?
Not yet — currently records are issued by email with the packing list. A customer-facing lookup is the next thing we are building, and the demonstration tool on this page is the prototype.
Do new pallets get a passport?
They get a build record rather than a passport: lumber source, moisture, treatment and nail pattern. The passport is specifically about reuse history, and a new pallet has none yet.
