Everything we
know, written
down badly.

Forty posts on specification, grading, compliance, moisture, freight arithmetic and carbon accounting. No listicles, no keyword filler, and several pieces that cost us money to publish.

A pallet’s fourth life, measured

We followed one 48×40 through seven years, four lives and two counties. Here is what it carried, what we replaced, and what it saved.Ecology · 5 min · Dale, repair lead

Pest management in a wood yard

Four acres of stacked timber is habitat. Keeping it from becoming habitat is mostly geometry and housekeeping, not chemistry.Operations · 5 min · Marcus, yard supervisor

Racking a pallet that was never designed for racking

The most dangerous thing that happens to pallets is a warehouse re-layout. The platform did not change; the load case did.Fundamentals · 4 min · Dale, repair lead

Editorial policy, such as it is

We publish things that cost us money.

The post arguing that Grade B is usually sufficient reduces our average order value. The one showing where our own carbon arithmetic is weak hands a competitor a quote to use against us. The one telling you to fix your dock plate removes repairs from our bench. All of them are true, so all of them are up.

Every post is signed by whoever wrote it — a yard supervisor, a repair lead, the person who does the routing. If something here is wrong, email us. Three readers have corrected us so far and two of them were right; the pages were changed and the correction noted.

Let's get wood moving
